Kerri Burr
Originally from Salem, Ma, I attended Saint Michael's college in Colchester, VT. I received a BA in Psychology in 1998. Having an itch to travel and explore different career opportunities, I joined a small company called Readak and traveled to Nashville, TN and San Juan, PR teaching an educational support program for boarding schools. Coming into an intimate setting like a boarding school was a great experience where I cultivated strong relationships that lasted for years. I worked in corporate America for the next 10 years while teaching yoga classes on nights and weekends.
I knew from a young age that counseling would be a good fit for my personality. I enjoy people and have always found friends and family members come to me for advise and just a friendly ear to listen. Like most people, I have had my own moments of anxiety and worry about what the future holds. I have found yoga classes, meditation, and talk therapy great ways to cope withe everyday stresses, as well as a major life crisis.
Currently, I am finishing up my Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling at Salem State University. I am looking forward to beginning my internship at Lahey Behavioral Health this Fall, and then to graduating in May 2016.
